How to Apply for Army ROTC Scholarships by John Goldman
The American Army Reserve Officer Training Corps or ROTC provides active and reserve national guards working for Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, Army a four year ROTC scholarship award. This special award is offered to these officials for attending more than 600 universities and colleges which offer ROTC scholarship programs.
This type of scholarship is generally provided to these officials to finance their expenditures need to complete their education. This includes monthly stipends, books and tuition fees in exchange of commitment of 8 years part time and 4 year full time active service as National Guards in Navy, Army or Marine Corps.
In order to apply for The American Army Reserve Officer Training Corps scholarships you have to follow few useful steps which include:
*Initially learn about the rules and regulations of Army and Navy and decide whether you are ready to serve in military service as an Army officer or a Navy officer. Read about all the career fields which are pen to you.
*Next choose from the wide list of schools that affiliate ROTC programs. The application forms usually ask for three different choices and army scholarships. Try and match your choices properly. However, how and where to use the scholarship award is entirely deiced by the Army. You have a choice to apply for more than one school to receive ROTC scholarship.
*You can apply to any college which affiliates ROTC program however you have to check the eligibility requirements before applying. The actual age limit various however you have to complete 17 years of age to start your college and be an American resident.
*Visit the ROTC official website and fill the online application form and submit it as soon as possible with all the necessary information filled correctly.
*You must also take the ACT or SAT college entrance examination however you have to make sure to get high scores rather than just getting score.
*You must also take some physical fitness training from a highly qualified fitness trainer and try to get in proper shape with daily exercises. It s always important for you to be always fit and healthy before you are called for any fitness test.
*Besides this, you also complete a medical examination when you get instructions from them. The medical examination and interview usually takes place where an Army officer is stationed with one of the three main colleges that are selected as examination centers. One thing to remember is that only ROTC scholarship finalists have to go through this medical test.
This type of scholarship provided by Army is general based on the merit list. Even the selection committee considers the grades, scores, leadership potentials and extra curricular activities along with your excellence during the interview. The Army ROTC scholarship program normally provides two and three year scholarships. To join the ROTC program there is no need for you to be on the scholarship because you can still receive monthly stoipends only because you are a participant in this program.
